Common wisdom: Trump hates the hacking story because it tranishes his victroy. True?

True. It does tarnish his victory, but it doesn't de-legitimize it.

So why is he constantly harping on it then? Does his egoism, obsessiveness and petulance account for the time and energy he is putting into this story (that it wasn't the Russians) account for his vehemence?

Perhaps. But even Trump must know this story is going to go south on him.

Perhaps it's something more. Much more. Like collusion with the Russian government about what to hack and release or, at the minimum, with Wikileaks about when to release different portions. The first would be treason. The second would be a bombshell.

Trump's thinking might go like the following: "If I discredit the intelligence agancies up front, then if they turn up evidence of such collusion I can simply dismiss it as evidence of further errors."

If it is possible to reasonably conclude that the hacking could have affected the election enough to swing it in his favor (and that's possible, considering the very thin margins in several swing states), then his victory is just as illegitimate as Bush's was. I have no doubt Trump is trying to dismiss the hacking claims for that reason.

I'm always pretty upset, so I suppose that makes sense. I treat my victroy with a great deal of care. Polishing the tranish off of it takes time.

He is much more afraid of folks finding out that his campaign coordinated with Russia.
