to celebrate their first inaugurations,
'the Donald' will have only three inaugural balls, one of which is a traditional military ball.

So I guess he could only gather enough interest to have two balls?

5. On a side note, DC has always had a vibrant and dynamic social scene

akin to Edith Wharton's New York City, replete with the annual Blue Book and "The Social List of Washington" better known as the "Green Book" which dictate who is invited to (and banned from) social events. It goes as far back as Andrew Jackson when he defended Peggy Easton from being banned from parties because of a scandal. (It was said she committed bigamy.)

The ascension of Trump with his 2-3 balls is a rebuff to Washington Society as he knows that despite the presidency, he and his family are not truly in the Blue/Green Books.
