Spoiler alert: it's full of politically biased scenes.

(51,649 posts)I was thinking of seeing it over Christmas break and wonder if it is worth braving the crowds, or should I wait for it to come out on DVD?
it is worth seeing in theater.
I thought it started slow, but that's just me. The last half made up for it.

(111,327 posts)have said it was a lot better than the last one, which was a one of the better ones in the series.
I'll wait and either get the DVD or see it on Prime, hauling these old bones to a theater so I can stick to the floor and listen to dimwits describe the action on their cell phones is no longer in the cards.

(5,611 posts)There were other people who were teary-eyed in the audience as well -- and we all sat for awhile after the credits started rolling. Diego Luna and Felicity Jones do a great job -- Luna is especially wonderful. The last half of the film is breathtaking. It is definitely a film to see on the big screen.

it's almost like the people who made it figured out the true secret sauce behind a good Star Wars movie

(13,081 posts)And I'm the worlds biggest Star Wars fan, a true, hard-core nerd of the highest caliber. I even read the prequel novel (which ends with the birth of R1's protagonist).
But after an incredibly long week, I fell dead asleep -- under my Star Wars blanket, no less, because each member of my family has personal Star Wars blankets for Star Wars movie watching.
I'll probably go by myself on Tuesday morning when my wife and daughter go back to work.
