This is not a "new" plan from Trump. He's been itching to blow up the World for almost 3 decades. Read THIS twitter thread:

Apparently it was Trump's fantasy way back in 1984 to negotiate arms with Russia. How bizarre!

Most of those [pre-nuclear] countries are in one form or another dominated by the U.S. and the Soviet Union, Trump says. Between those two nations you have the power to dominate any of those countries. So we should use our power of economic retaliation and they use their powers of retaliation and between the two of us we will prevent the problem from happening. It would have been better having done something five years ago, he says. But I believe even a country such as Pakistan would have to do something now. Five years from now theyll laugh.
You think Pakistan would just fold? We wouldnt have to offer them anything in return?
Maybe we should offer them something. Im saying you start off as nicely as possible. You apply as much pressure as necessary until you achieve the goal. You start off telling them, Lets get rid of it. If that doesnt work you then start cutting off aid. And more aid and then more. You do whatever is necessary so these people will have riots in the street, so they cant get water. So they cant get Band-Aids, so they cant get food. Because thats the only thing thats going to do itthe people, the riots.
But what about the French? I ask Trump. They
Id come down on them so hard, he says. Because I think theyve been the worst example of
But they already have the bomb. Do you think theyll give it up?
Well, I tell you if they didnt give it up
Look, they blew up the Greenpeace ship
Theyve got the bomb, but they dont have it now with the delivery capability they will have in five years. I f they didnt give it upand I dont mean reduce it, and I dont mean stop, because stopping doesnt mean anything. I mean get it out. If they didnt, I would bring sanctions against that country that would be so strong, so unbelievable...

(14,856 posts)Could he possibly still think that "plan" would work? His reputation of belligerence when contradicted by facts (reality) makes me wonder if he still clings to it?

(14,856 posts)Trump and Putin arent heading to war with each othertheyre heading to war together. Trump is a vociferous defender and admirer of Putin and is suspected by multiple intelligence experts of being assisted and even co-opted by the Kremlin. Russian interference in the US election has been affirmed by multiple US intelligence agencies and has led to calls for a congressional investigation. Rather than engaging in an arms race against each other, Trump and Putin are possibly teaming up as nuclear partners against shared targets...
In 1987, Trump made his goal of Russian collaboration on nuclear power explicit: The Soviet Union and the US should partner to form a nuclear superpower with the intention of intimidating other countries into dropping their own nuclear plans.

(7,723 posts)NO ONE talked about it during the campaign.
It's treason, it's insanity, it's fucking scary.

(14,856 posts)There were so many appalling things he said or did, I lost track of the older ones too.
About the only traction they got on anything was Hillary's freakin' e-mail!
Anything related to nuclear weapons should have never been skirted past, however!

(7,723 posts)and Hillary tried to get traction on how dangerous it would be for him to have nukes. But no luck.
I almost feel like there was a conspiracy at the highest levels to get him elected, to some evil end involving nukes.
This article is creepy as hell.
