I'm really liking our newbies! Invitation to tell us why you came to DU

I was driven here by the Bush Selection in 2000. I was in such despair that I actively looked for Democratic sites and found DU. I lurked for many years before I joined so I could post.

DU has saved my sanity and I love the people here!

Because of the last election cycle. I was tired of the "both sides do it" mentality and needed to find some sanity.

But I was here under another name since 2002 or something like that. See, when the Trumpites attacked DU, they wiped stuff out. I could not, and still don't remember my password as it was stored in the computer. I emailed the admins several times to no avail. So I decided to just change my username and throw another 20 dollars into the kitty.
I was known as Bluzmann57. If I can ever think of my password, I will be again. Anyway, that's my story.
And yes, this place has saved my (tenuous) sanity a few times. It may do so again because I'm REAL upset about the erection, er, election results.

I'm not really new, I've been here on and off since 2002. But I was offline for three years due to illness and only recently came back. I can't get through this Trump crap without DU.
