"Tinkle down economics" which is what "trickle down" and "supply side" economics has produced nothing but billionaires and millionaires over the last 30 years. And that is what the GOP wants more than anything. More of this economic plan on steroids. That plan is what Romney wants. And they are out in the open about it now.
In their mind all these billionaires will buy this country so they can rape and pillage working people at will. And they cannot do a thing about it. Voting GOP is voting for this money. Somehow even the "brain damaged" or the "intellectually challenged" must somehow wake up.
It is beyond obvious that "tinkle down" has cost jobs and only replaces them with "starvation jobs".

(5,178 posts)and ethical behavior they exhibited while in charge. We are now living with the adults of the trickle down generations and while the jobs might not be there they do know how to gain power & make money. Kids will emulate what leaders & role models show them and they are lying, cheating & stealing with the best of them. They care nothing for antiquated laws, oaths or pledges. Think its funny interrupting the President of the United States so they can guffaw with their pals. I'd say quite a bit has trickled down from the GOP and its policies. I know they must be brimming with pride.

(100,081 posts)They should call it "trickle up economics" because with this system - the millionaires and billionaires of society get it all, pay nothing back, while we're forced to fight to fight for what's left of the scraps. Can't we admit that after 40+ years that this policy not only fails but sucks horribly and is responsible for killing the planet?

(25,699 posts)In fact for every millionaire and billionaire, it has thrown several THOUSAND into deeper poverty. The wealth is flowing from the public sector into the hands of the wealthy. Our pond of public wealth is being drained, and thousands of people who need that public access are left to flop around and die like stranded fish.
In addition to the poverty, it has led directly to the deterioration of our school systems, our hospitals, and both our energy and transport infrastructure; a smaller pool of public wealth means less to spend on such public goods, while supply-side economics forbids the taxation of those to whom the wealth is going, ensuring the deterioration of these services.
And then they sell us charter schools, corporate hospitals, and franchised prisons because, gosh, the ones we had paid for by hte public "weren't working!"
With this shift comes a rise in police militarization and brutality; "law and order" becomes the only place that spending public money is still acceptable, and for fear of uprising by the newly impoverished people without schools or safe roads, the police are granted this money, and they fill their ranks with drug-addled mercenaries, heavy weapons, and bribed judges. When the people do stand for what's theirs, this happens;
This is without going into the "free trade" policies enacted with other nations, which largely amount to "we get all your trade, for free." NAFTA destroyed Mexico's agricultural sector, which is why "illegal immigration" is happening (what a stupid term, we don't call any other civil misdemeanor offender "criminals" and campaign against their existence.)
So yes... Trickle-Down theory produces much, much more than millionaires and billionaires. In fact they are, if anything, an accidental and occasional side effect of the process.
