A&E Is Making A Show About The Ku Klux Klan Called Generation KKK

An upcoming docuseries on A&E will go inside the Ku Klux Klan.

The television network will premiere an eight-part docuseries about four KKK-affiliated families on Jan. 10, called “Generation KKK.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is meant to create a dialogue between those in the KKK and their family members who oppose their views. None of the KKK members participating in the show hide their identity in any way.

The timing of the show is both uncanny and troubling. Former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke publicly endorsed president-elect Donald Trump, as did the KKK’s official newspaper, the Crusader. Members of the hate group held a parade celebrating Trump’s victory in North Carolina, while onlookers shouted “White Power!” at the cars driving by. Various news reports have come out since the Nov. 8 election describing an uptick in hate crimes.

2. I had a great uncle and great grandfather who were in the klan.

My grandmother found a box containing some of her dad's klan stuff. I was 12 or so at the time and recoiled in horror (understatement) when I saw it. She disposed of the garbage soon after finding it amongst a dead relative's belongings.

This shit does not need to be normalized. Everyone should recoil in horror when they see klan crap.

A tv show will make this shit commonplace.

3. I had a great-great uncle who was buried with full Klan honors in 1924.

This was in central PA. The obituary said he was a great Christian.

Shaun King has seen a preview and sees it more as exposing the ugliness.
I don't have cable so won't be seeing it anytime soon, but I'm going to keep an open mind and hope he's right.

People need to know that all racists don't take part in the lynchings or buy the rope. It is more often hidden in plain sight.

I called the VP of Sales in NY and LA and told them both that I would be contacting their advertisers and will tell them that I am boycotting their product unless A&E drops this program. I also told them that I would hope they were not in the Basket of Deplorables.
