But he voiced confidence that Trump and his team will have a change in perspective once he takes the oath of office, saying there is a sobering process when you walk into the Oval Office.

Really? Is Obama really this blind??
He thinks that arrogant piece of shit narcissist will change and/or that his lunatic cabinet will? I'm calling BULLSHIT!
And with Schumer willing to play ball with tRump plus other Senators willing to work after the ACA repeal I'd say we are totally without leadership.

(7,228 posts)Probably Elizabeth Warren is the closest we have, but we need many more real progressives!
Sadly, I see little inspiration in our current party leadership. It's certainly not coming from the DNC.

(3,743 posts)together and become a good person/President when he takes office. I think he was saying that all the BS and ignorance that Trump displays now may very well come crashing down on him when he takes office. No more blaming Obama/Hillary etc. for everything. He will have to put up or shut the fuck up. If Trump thinks he is being treated "unfairly" now... Just wait till he starts fucking up as President. Trump thinks everything is about him and only cares about himself. Lets see how far THAT gets him as President.

(2,957 posts)As we potentially end up in wars, fall victim to terror attacks, have all societal progress rolled back 50 years, lose our social safety nets, suffer another great depression, etc?
Yeah, people will say "Yup, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to vote for Trump", but that won't do us much good as our country crashes to the ground.

(2,957 posts)Is his entire cabinet of corrupt, ignorant, science denying, racist lunatics going to also have a change of heart? These people literally want to take progress in America back 50+ years. This is not a fight where you want to take the high road. It's a fight for the survival of everything socially progressive, science based, and otherwise good within our country.

(7,596 posts)He's as pessimistic as everyone else about this sick fuck but he doesn't just want to come out and say that we're basically replacing him with a 6'3 pile of shit. No matter how much of a horrible person his successor is, Obama wants to be dignified and respectful during the transition period.
