Thirty-four days until Donald Trump is scheduled to be sworn in as the new President.
Thirty-four days can be an eternity with Donald Trump.
The President was very savvy in his last news conference, in my opinion. Republican electors do not need his imprimatur to vote or not to vote for Donald Trump. If he had shown passionate opposition to Trump, that may have convinced some that might be on the fence into supporting Trump, even though they wanted to vote against him?
Also, the President knows that a lot of things can happen in the next 34 days. He was very cautious not to step on any breaking stories that might come out between now and then. He made a point to give Trump the benefit of the doubt. If something is discovered that might disqualify Mr Trump between now and inauguration, they cannot blame it on Barack Obama. He has not been as partisan as most in his Party.
For whatever reasons, the President was very restrained. He may know more than we do about the extent of the investigation and the facts regarding the hacks? He did say that they would not make public the cyber information that might help our adversaries.
It seems to me that there may be more of this story to come? Donald Trump is not in the Oval Office yet.
