The Great Divider

Henry Clay, Senator from Kentucky, was known as the "Great Compromiser". He was the guiding force on many of the issues of his time, including the Missouri Compromise. He believed in bringing the people together to resolve problems and issues.

Unlike Henry Clay, we now have a President-elect who is more of a Great Divider. In an election where he was instrumental in dividing much of the country, where he lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes, one might think he would look to unite those that he divided? But instead, he continues to divide. That is a recipe for disaster.

Unless he can unite this country, the road ahead looks very rocky and there is no indication that he has any intent but to criticize and mock those that were against him. If America was a single person, he/she would be on the psychiatrist couch. Threats and fear of the future are unhealthy for an individual and they are unhealthy for a nation.
