If this bunghole finishes four years in office (on his fast food diet) I'll be 70 years old.

JFC on a popsicle stick. It's not the way I saw myself going out, and I survived Nixon/Reagan/Bush/Bush.

extraordinary occurs, it will take at least a entire generation to undo all the damage that potentially can happen.

All the progress that had been made with Civil Rights, Women's Rights, Environmental Rights, Health Care, etc. will have to be re-fought.

Those issues were already under attack.

Safety Net programs such as Social Security and Medicare that we have taken for granted, they are going to try and decimate them.

My first election was for George McGovern.

This was the most important election of my lifetime, and America failed miserably

The legislature have already pledged to do everything to counter a trump presidency:

"We will be reaching out to federal, state and local officials to evaluate how a Trump Presidency will potentially impact federal funding of ongoing state programs, job-creating investments reliant on foreign trade, and federal enforcement of laws affecting the rights of people living in our state. We will maximize the time during the presidential transition to defend our accomplishments using every tool at our disposal.

While Donald Trump may have won the presidency, he hasn’t changed our values. America is greater than any one man or party. We will not be dragged back into the past. We will lead the resistance to any effort that would shred our social fabric or our Constitution."

The reason I mentioned a deduction of funding is because trump said no money for sanctuary cities. Not sure if that will be legal but he could use another name to make it happen I suppose. San Francisco is staying a sanctuary city and basically told trump to F off. Love that cities are fighting back.

If he says we can and will do this, then we can and will. I believe him He's tough, too. He won't back down or let himself be bullied. That's why we love him. California is a great place to be right now because of Jerry and other California Democrats.

because CA is the 6th largest economy in the world, and the state supports a lot of Red states already. All Jerry will have to do is to say, "fine, we will stop giving you money, and that will give us plenty of money to improve our state."

What Repubs fail to understand is that the West Coast and New York State pretty much keep America going. If CA, WA, OR, NY all decide to stop supporting Repub states, the US would collapse. IOW Repubs need Democratic state money to keep their scams going.

Even so, private citizens and science/research organizations will gladly pony up as much as they can for this. I think you may be underestimating the response of the scientific community and average Americans if he shuts down federally funded/sponsored/oversight of climate science.

I fully expect that the entire West Coast from San Diego to Seattle will break away from the failed state that will result from Trump and his gang of neophyte morons. This is disastrous on every conceivable front and in every manner imaginable.

At the exact moment in history when strong, rational, articulate leadership is needed, we instead have a blowhard, ideologue fool ready to take the wheel. Excuse me for wanting to get out of the car BEFORE it speeds over the cliff...

This, however, is feeding into a very dangerous narrative that we need to be aware of.
The fracturing of our great Union into smaller States where small minorities of people can dictate the rights and freedoms of their neighbors. It is only our Federal system of governing that keeps all the children playing respectfully together.
My guess is that Trump and his minions will be perfectly happy to tell Gov. Brown to go right ahead, one less expense for the rest of us.
