There are no saints among the big powers - they all murder for their perceived national interests - the interests of the plutocrats.

... for intervention among the people of the West. There's no reason to feel like we've failed. It's Russia's baby now and they get to deal with whatever negative backlash results from it.

The objective measure of failure is not predicated upon the presence nor absence of popular support-- homecoming king's, yes. Right or Wrong, no.

RADDATZ: Mr. Trump, let me repeat the question. If you were president (LAUGHTER) what would you do about Syria and the humanitarian crisis in Aleppo? And I want to remind you what your running mate said. He said provocations by Russia need to be met with American strength and that if Russia continues to be involved in air strikes along with the Syrian government forces of Assad, the United States of America should be prepared to use military force to strike the military targets of the Assad regime.

TRUMP: OK. He and I haven’t spoken, and I disagree. I disagree.
As part of the same answer, the GOP candidate added, “I don’t like Assad at all, but Assad is killing ISIS.”

As a rule, any sentence that begins, “I don’t like Assad at all, but…” probably isn’t going to end well.

It was remarkable enough to hear the Republican presidential nominee denounce the foreign policy views of the Republican vice presidential nominee. It was equally striking to hear Trump get the facts wrong: Assad is not, in reality, targeting ISIS.

But as Vox’s Zack Beauchamp and Yochi Dreazen explained, Trump also gave every indication that he’s siding with Assad in Syria’s civil war.
Trump didn’t seem even remotely bothered by the fact that Assad has used chemical weapons against his own people and presides over a military that has killed tens of thousands of Syrian civilians and driven millions more from their home.

when he said during the debates "What about Aleppo? Oh It's already fallen." Shrug. He is a monster. He really has no feeling for anyone but himself. What has he EVER done for anyone but himself? I think I have given more to charity than he has. I despise him more every second. And soon the rest of the world will share our disdain when he has the ability to actually destroy lives.

Children are being burned alive. Civilians being executed on the spot.

"The United Nation’s top human rights official on Tuesday charged the U.S. and other countries with collectively wringing their hands in the face of the “wanton slaughter of men, women and children” in Aleppo and pleaded for the world to take measures to protect those fleeing the Russian and Syrian regime onslaught."

The U.N. had received credible reports of scores of civilians being killed either by intense bombardment or summary executions by pro-government forces." Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in a statement.
