I know Jordan from TYT has been doing an outstanding job.
I want to see all the reaction to the veterans showing up this weekend to protect

(131,129 posts)CANNON BALL, N.D. U.S. military veterans were building barracks on Friday at a protest camp in North Dakota to support thousands of activists who have squared off against authorities in frigid conditions to oppose a multibillion-dollar pipeline project near a Native American reservation.
Veterans volunteering to be human shields have been arriving at the Oceti Sakowin camp near the small town of Cannon Ball, where they will work with protesters who have spent months demonstrating against plans to route the Dakota Access Pipeline beneath a lake near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, organizers said.
The Native Americans and protesters say the $3.8 billion pipeline threatens water resources and sacred sites.
Some of the more than 2,100 veterans who signed up on the Veterans Stand for Standing Rock group's Facebook page are at the camp, with hundreds more expected during the weekend. Tribal leaders asked the veterans, who aim to form a wall in front of police to protect the protesters, to avoid confrontation with authorities and not get arrested.
Wesley Clark Jr., a writer whose father is retired U.S. Army General Wesley Clark, met with law enforcement on Friday to tell them potentially 3,500 veterans would join the protest and the demonstrations would be carried out peacefully, protest leaders said.
The plan is for veterans to gather in Eagle Butte, a few hours away, and then travel by bus to the main protest camp, organizers said, adding that a big procession is planned for Monday.'>>>

People of Faith: Call to Standing Rock
From Chief Arvol Looking Horse,
19th Generation Keeper of White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle
Pray with Us on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Oceti Sakowin Camp
The hearts of all peoples faiths must now unite in believing we can change the path we are now on. We, from heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the world to unite for our childrens future. Already we have witnessed many nations of life are now dying because of contamination: those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, the plant nation, the four legged, and now the two legged.
We are asking the religious people to come and support our youth, to stand side by side with them, because they are standing in prayer. If you can find it in your heart, pray with them and stand beside them. The police department and national guard would listen to each and every one of you.
This is a very serious time we are in. I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel this is long overdue. It is time that all of us become leaders to help protect the sacred upon Mother Earth. She is the source of life and not a resource.
In a Sacred Hoop of Life, where there is no ending and no beginning.
SCHEDULE:
Sunrise (after 7am): Water Ceremony (tentative)
10am: Interfaith Prayers
12pm: Community Lunch
2pm: Interfaith Visits and Conversations

#VeteransForStandingRock #PeoplePower #NoDAPL In this video, newly arrived veterans at the Standing Rock Sioux protest camp take part in native chants, introduce themselves to the viewers, and speak on what moved them to travel all the way to North Dakota. Gathered on the bridge, a strategic point that controls access to the Oceti Sakowin protester camp, the inspiring folks at Indigenous Rising Media shared whats happening and conducted some interviews.
Basically were just forming a protective line to protect the camp behind us and we predict thatll be relatively peaceful but were here to lend our support, to make sure everything is peaceful, and that nothing happens that shouldnt explains one man.
Over two thousand veterans have traveled to the Dakota Access Pipeline protest camp in North Dakota, intending to form a human shield protecting the protesters from the violent militarized police force that is defending the construction company. The Army Corps of Engineers has issued an order to evacuate the protest camp by Dec 4th a demand that has been resoundingly rejected by tribal leaders. With veterans shielding the camp, however, the security forces may be less likely to resort to the appalling violence theyve unleashed in the past month.
