Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDo you think this morning's VERY optimistic Bloomberg poll passes the smell test?
I dislike polls and pollsters. Like the one from Gallup a couple of weeks ago showing Mitt Ramney with a massive lead among military veterans. It just doesn't pass the smell test.
Well that same skepticism hits me too when the polls show my guy way up as well.
This morning Bloomberg is out showing Obama with a 13 point lead and a 53% approval rating. Obama may well be winning, but that just seems too good to be true.

Romney never led.
This could change if he does something stupid like taking America into war with Syria or Iran, or if the stock market crashed. Short of that, it's no contest.

(33,497 posts)Every other poll has the race within a few points, most with Obama ahead. The job news has not been good. While I think Obama is ahead I don't think he's ahead by anything like 13-points. Before I get too excited about this poll I'd want to see other national polls showing Obama's lead increasing.

(3,596 posts)People with only cell phones are, for the most part, not included in polling. This includes younger voters. Obama did very well among younger voters in 2008. We know this demographic has been hit hard by the recession in terms of jobs, etc. but I would still be surprised if they cut for Romney.

(30,439 posts)The media would have a collective orgasm and declare Obama's campaign to be doomed.
A poll comes out showing Obama up 13 points and the media is either downplaying it or ignoring it completely. So much for that "liberal media".
