(4,898 posts)My bet here is United Technologies (who owns Carrier) will land a sizable DoD/Federal contract in the first few months of 2017 that will more than offset anything they lost in keeping the Carrier facility in Indiana open. I strongly doubt Drumph used the stick approach (e.g. telling UT that its Federal contracts would be at risk if they moved Carrier to Mexico).
OV (Orange Voldemort) hasn't even taken office and already the back door deals are starting. Somewhere, Warren G Harding is smiling that soon he will no longer be considered the most corrupt president in history.

(5,477 posts)And as soon as he is sworn in, immediately goes about putting plans into motion that will lay off many thousands more, as he shuts down or reduces as many federal entities (EPA, FCC, Department of Education, VA, NOAA, NASA, etc.) as possible.
He winds up getting praise from the deplorables for both saving jobs and reducing the federal payroll (without mentioning the thousand of additional people that will be out of work).
