Circular firing squad

We have only been back up for a couple days and we are already nipping at each other's heels and getting in our partisan digs as much as we can.

We can go back and forth all day and you can call me whatever name you want to make yourself feel better but that isn't going to change the reality and it sure as hell isnt going to win elections.

The odd thing is that some are under the impression that it's only about this election or that its about racism or sexism or identify politics or whatever your special interests are. It's not about you or me or our specific opinions.
We are on track to re-elect all of the same Democratic Party leadership, man/women, young/old white/black/green I don't care, that has been in command while we have lost control of the two elected branches of federal government (the Congressional loses are almost insurmountable). While we have lost a majority of governorships. Majority of state legislatures.

I am more than willing to give them a chance to make it better but we have to be realistic and have the expectation that we will see serious improvements or replace them (again, man/women, young/old white/black/green I don't care).

It's easy to get lost in the emotional choas that a lose like this can cause. I have taken a lot of comments with a large grain of salt and refrained from commenting. At the same time there has been a lot of "old white guys" and "dicks" and "penis" comments that are hard to ignore. I am a lifelong liberal progressive and a uncompromising feminist and civil right advocate and I know that comments like that are not meant for "me" but it doesn't mean I don't internalize it any less than you would if someone attacked your race or sex or orientation.

Lastly, To quote my own sig line:

Trump is a narcissistic, racist, bigoted and xenophobic fascist. We are either united in our fight against his agenda or we will all become a victim of it.

I look at the Millennial support for Obama, a youthful, dynamic representative, and the lack of support for Clinton and the 'lesson' I am learning from this is that our septuagenarians need to stand aside for the next generation.

Sanders' wishful thinking that manufacturing jobs will magically reappear shows he is out of touch, as well.

Obama reset the bar for what a charismatic leader can be. We need more like him, not a continuation down the same winding path that never seems to lead to a destination.
