We have to repeal it so we can know how to replace it

Remember the mocking from the media and the talking heads when Pelosi said that we need to pass the Affordable Care Act so people will see what's in it? Her statement simply indicated that it was a complex bill and that people would see the benefits of it as it was enacted. I argue that we have seen remarkable progress in greatly reducing the number of Americans without adequate health insurance, and although insurance costs have continued to rise, they have risen at the lowest percentage in over 4 decades!

Still, Democrats were mocked relentlessly.

Hmmmmm, I wonder if the media will be just as hard on the Republicans, who are saying; "we have to repeal the ACA so then people can see in two years what our imaginary plan to replace it is".

Something tells me that looking for the Republican "replacement" for Obamacare will be like waiting until the audit is over to see Trumps taxes.

Senate Republicans plan to repeal Obamacare. That’s what’s known. It’s what they do after that that’s the mystery.

Reconciliation — a budget loophole through which Senators could pass legislation by a simple majority and block a potential Democratic filibuster — was floated for a minute. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy then suggested it would be easier to decide on a replacement after Obamacare was repealed and “you will have, hopefully, fewer people playing politics.”

“Its gonna take us awhile to make that transition from the repeal to actually replacing it with more affordable health coverage, which provides people better access,” said Senate majority whip John Cornyn. “There is a lot to do so it’s not going to happen overnight.”
