Breitbart and some of its right-wing audience are now declaring a war on advertisers who are dropping the site. The sites CEO Larry Solov said, Well handle this the way we always do war.
Solov added, What youre seeing is Kelloggs and others buying into a false, left-wing narrative that our 45 million readers are deplorables Our readers are mainstream America and, frankly, thats who these advertisers risk alienating. Theyre creating economic censorship of conservative discourse. They say we dont represent their values but we represent American values.
At least one blogger seemed to agree with Solovs assessment. John Hinderaker wrote for PowerLineBlog.com that Frosted Flakes should be boycotted much like Hamilton and Starbucks.
He added, A final observation: most cereal like Frosted Flakes and Fruit Loops is consumed by children. Who has more children, liberals or conservatives? Right. Kellogg might want to start looking for a new CEO.

(90,773 posts)- you know, pouty racists who think themselves hip - to now claiming those same readers are really just mainstream Americans, whose racism represents American values.
Before Trump - on the outside
After Trump - mainstream
It's a self-defining moment of transition (for them) worth noting.

and told them I would search out their products. THey are getting a lot of push back from the deplorables and could use some positive reinforcements.

(20,762 posts)I already rely on Kashi 7-Grain puffed original, which is one of the few 'no added sugar' cereals available.
But UN-frosted Mini-Wheats are going into my cart, also- again, no added sugar.
And low-sugar options Rice Krispies and All-Bran buds will be a nice change-up from time to time.
Many thanks, BTW, to the cheerful Kellogg's product rep who checked her list for me and discussed which items have what sugar content. She was happy to hear some good feedback on their Breitbart ad pull.
appreciatively,

Yeah, what Republican voter with a screaming child at 6:00 a.m., said child demanding his/her Fruit Loops, is going to boycott? The fact that conservatives have more children just means that there are going to be more children in households to whine when conservative parents take away Little Junior's favorite cereal.

(18,837 posts)...she mellowed out considerably when she hit age 4, but her "terrible twos" lasted a full two years. One thing that has not changed is that she has a "regimen" in which she expects certain foods / treats throughout the day, like apple juice. And she does love Fruit Loops, too. When they visit, they bring all of her things with them, because if she goes "apple juice time" and there is no apple juice, all hell breaks loose.

(15,222 posts)My daughter is now 33, but when she was that age, she would have wreaked havoc if she didn't get her Fruit Loops!
Breitbart's attempts to vilify Kelloggg may be stymied by 4-year olds!!!! LOL

(65,076 posts). . .that those 45 million people he's talking about all don't read his pathetic website, right? The number of people who read it, if they all supported the silly boycott wouldn't amount to a truck load of cereal headed to one supermarket.

(5,275 posts)I have always loved Frosted Flakes but have stayed away as an adult because of all the sugar in it.
But now.....I am in, I'll buy 2 boxes the next time at the grocery, I'll skimp on something else.
Larry you are a wingnut jerk.

(50,986 posts)that big an issue. Personal opinion.
But no matter what a person believes about Frosted Flakes, if we get rid of them, does that mean Tony the Tiger would be out of a job? Thrown out into the street after years of service? Forced to live homeless, begging for scraps?
The worst you could say about Tony is that sometimes he forgets to use his indoor voice. Other than that, the guy's a peach.
Capitalism has a cruel vein running through it, does it not, ladies and gentlemen?
Save Tony!

This idiot doesn't know many adults like kids' cereal, too. So let's splurge and get some Kellog's Frosted Mini-Wheats.
