Notes from the Underground #10: Defend the moral high ground

Yes, we are up against sleazy scum-sucking parasites

And it can be enjoyable to preach that message to the choir

But much of the choir will show up to sing whether or not we preach that message

The question is how to preach on the highways and by-ways

The answer is: one should speak simply and accurately about something that matters

Most people can tell right from wrong

Don't waste too much time with those who really can't tell the difference or who really don't care

We aren't trying to bring in everybody

Pick things that matter to you for moral reasons

In arguments, you want to win based on the facts

Make sure that the basic facts can be explained simply and accurately in only a few words

If that's not possible, you won't get anywhere

If you have to explain to most people why there's a moral issue here, you won't get anywhere
