I doubt he's too ill to be in public. Once the transplant recipient survives the first year (meaning s/he is compliant with all the drugs), s/he probably has quite a few good years left. I know people who are 20 years out and doing fine.

I sort of forgot about him with Trump running around with his band of deplorables. I don't really even remember him saying anything about Trump during the campaign season. Come to think of it, has most of the Bush II-era Republican establishment simply vanished without a trace? What happened to Palin? I never thought I'd see the day where I sort of miss some of the (relatively sane) Republican "whackos" that we all used to knock around here on DU.
