(45,806 posts)we were taught that if you have a flag that has become tattered from use, you are SUPPOSED to burn it. The reason behind that is the other options you have would be to just toss it out in the trash, or drop it in the dumpster, both would show a sign of disrespect.
Now I know I haven't been a grade school kid for a very long time but it still makes sense to me. What the hell does the Con want done with a worn flag?
