Want to Boycott Trump? There's an App For That
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/boycotttrump/id1171663655?ls=1&mt=8As Democratic lawmakers debate how much to fight President-elect Donald Trump's agenda in Congress, some voters want to go even further by organizing protests and boycotts.
While it would be easy enough to avoid Trump's hotels or golf resorts, Trump has less-obvious ties to many other businesses. So a Democratic super PAC created an app to help would-be boycotters identify hundreds of Trump-related companies.
The simple app from the Democratic Coalition Against Trump lets users search a database of company names. It includes both obscure businesses, like generically named property management companies on whose board Trump sits, and well-known brands like Home Depot, whose co-founders are vocal Trump supporters.
The super PAC, which formed to stop Trump, intends to keep operating to resist the Trump White House.
"The election may be over, but the fight against Trump has just begun," said Nate Lerner, the group's executive director. "Our Boycott Trump app enables people to take action against Trump by turning their purchasing power into a tool for protest. This hits Trump and his allies where it hurts them most - their wallets."
