Trumps wife, Melania Trump, and son, Barron Trump, will not be moving into the White House.

The first lady says she plans on staying at the family’s New York penthouse so that Barron can attend his Upper West Side private school.
Another source close to Trump’s team said that the first lady would be willing to travel to the White House when she is needed, but said that her primary focus would be on taking care of her son. Staying in New York might make things a bit easier for Barron and Melania Trump, but it will undoubtedly make things harder on the Secret Service who will have to secure a skyscraper in the middle of Manhattan. A security consultant told the Post that the effort to secure Trump Tower will involve both the Secret Service and NYPD.

Not enough "Gold" for her taste!!!
Making the Trump Tower in NYC the new White House of NY, will not be cheap for the American taxpayer.

Making America Great, Again!!! For the Trump's!!!

Not a real wife, not a real first family. The whole thing is a colossal fake. I'm sure she'll be glad to be rid of him (assuming HE even wants to inhabit the White House). Oh well; good for her, wanting to stay with her son.

She's spent the past two decades living the life a pretend princess and she knows it - her few attempts to be down to earth and accessible failed worse than any other first Lady in living history.
Maybe earlier socially-imperious First wives was almost as bad, but they at least had the advantage of going to a finishing school that allowed them to play the part of nobless oblige, or they were professional women who had experience speaking and leading activities in front of the public, which Melania Trump was a model who apparently never had to organize even a tea party for charity, let alone speak in public on a regular basis.
And from all evidence, she probably spent at least a year working in the US illegally, which exposes her to all sorts of potential abuse from both the right and the left, simply from the hypocrisy that is rife in modern Conservative Republicanism.

For her and her personal self-awareness, the best choice in this situation would be to be as far away from the Donald as possible, and spend the next four years trying to figure a way out of ever being out in the public eye - and finding the best way out of the pre-nup she signed with the old bastard.
Unless his health becomes such an issue he'd no longer be pResident...

The point is the TAX MONEY!

Think of the cost of this shit.
Do we pay the rent for her living there!
If no, the cost of the Secret Service detail for a building that size.

I think Trump's accounts have discovered a new way to fleece the Tax-payers

Because he gets SS protection, any time he goes somewhere, like to his Golf Course this week, traffic is snarled up for miles,
as it is around the block where his tower is.

If she wants to live in her own house, no matter how glitzy it is, I see no problem.

I am curious who all will get SS protection...besides the Mrs. and the young son...

It is not her decision, either. Donald is a total control freak and does not want people to have access to the wife that he cannot directly monitor. The younger Trump spawn just provides the excuse.

I wouldn't expect an illegal to understand the reasoning behind the establishment of an independent district.

But, it all has to do with control and influence.
