Alexander Hamilton and the Electorial College

As Alexander Hamilton writes in “The Federalist Papers,” the Constitution is designed to ensure “that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” The point of the Electoral College is to preserve “the sense of the people,” while at the same time ensuring that a president is chosen “by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice.”

I might be wrong but it's my bet they would chose Trump.

Under the Constitution, the House — currently under Republican control — decides the presidency if no candidate reaches the required electoral vote majority. House members choose from the top three contenders.

I seriously doubt that enough members of the Electoral College would flip their votes to Hillary to cause Trump to end up with less then the magic figure of 270. Gary Johnson would be the third top contender but he didn't win any electoral votes.

where one or two States can swing an election with suppression, fraud or incompetence stay in place. As we have seen in two elections in less than 20 years.
