Disrupt J20 is scaring the living crap out of me

Some of it is because of violent actions, which I always condemn. But mostly I'm frightened of how the cops might over-react to nonviolent direct action by rounding up anyone in the vicinity (a la the 2002 globalization march where an entire city block of protesters were taken into custody without justification).

Many of us progressive activists have been going back and forth about whether it's safe to go down to protest, or to go as trained legal observers. This makes me hesitant....
