We need a progressive, charismatic, young, nominee. VP is almost irrelevant. Don't know who that charismatic nominee would be, but I am sure someone will appear in the next 2 years. And before you accuse me of ageism, my husband is Bernie's age.

I have to say, it is really time for a younger generation. I thought so in this election and was surprised by our choices. As for Bernie, a person does not have to be president to be an effective leader. He can accomplish much more outside the White House.

whose *platform issues* centered on getting influence peddling out of congress? If you think it's overreacting to call out blatant ageism, and that's exactly what you've now restated, this time in a euphemism "new blood" - maybe you don't understand the brutal concept of bias against a person on the basis of their age. Not their ideas, not their energy level, just their age.

I can assure that I do understand the concept of bias against a person on the basis of their age, not just the concept, but the actual reality. I'm sorry if you thought that was ageism, it was most certainly NOT. I am of an age group that has dominated everything for decades. We out numbered everyone, we were a force to be reckoned with and we brought about great change. I want to believe that there are generations behind us who can take the baton and carry on.

I don't know what your problem is, but feel free not to respond to this comment. You are reading things that aren't there and yelling at someone you do not know. You really have no idea who you are talking to.

I'm just in the process of letting go, knowing my generation does not have a monopoly on liberal values or at least shouldn't.

So now, anyone who wants to become famous only has to mock Trump, wait for him to explode on Twitter and then soak up all the applause. There is a phrase Trump ought to know well--"You can't buy publicity like that." I am guessing he must be going senile to be giving so much attention to people who obviously want the atention.

I guess I better get started on a satirical book mocking Trump. What kind of animal should he be?

Sun Nov 20, 2016, 11:14 PM

and shit will stick to him.

In order to have political Teflon, the POTUS needs to pretend to be a lovable dufus like W. or Ronnie. That way, the average Joe empathizes with him when he is the butt of jokes (that he, President Dufus, pretends not to understand). He is supposed to blame all his least popular political decisions on his VP or his wife or the corporate media. But Trump desperately wants to appear to be in control and smart--even when he obviously isn't. He has way too much ego to ever let anything roll off his back like water from a duck. He will point at any criticism and jump up and down, yelling and threatening retribution---

Which in turn will get ever comedian and artist and anyone who ever wanted to be famous in on the act of mocking him.

Thick skin is a requirement for public office. Witness Obama who has weathered 8 very rough years with a sense of humor.

Trump's skin is paper thin and covered with fly paper. Let the poo throwing begin!
