I've added two new entries on my Holiday Card list.
Normally, it includes only people I know personally.
Oh, I do send holiday greetings for business contacts, etc., but not snail-mail cards, with hand-written stuff in them.
This year, though, I'm adding two entries, for people I've never met, personally.
But they've made an enormous contribution to my life.
And I'm grateful.
And I want them to know.
The Obamas.
And the Bidens.
I know they'll probably never have a chance to actually READ my card, or the messages I'll write in them... the White House, and Blair House, must get hundreds of thousands of cards. I hope so. I would love it if they were simply inundated with loving greetings this holiday season. Afloat in a sea of warm and grateful messages.
Perhaps a staffer will add mine to the total of "greetings received" on the day they arrive, maybe even pass along a word or two in a summary or however they do it.
But it means a lot to me to let them know what they've done for me. How I've been inspired by them. How proud I am of them. How much I wish them well.
So, yeah.
Two more stamps.
determinedly,
Bright
