https://www.buzzfeed.com/paulmcleod/clinton-supporters-hit-congress-with-a-tsunami-of-phone-call?utm_term=.jjZPby19p#.xg1LjgkK2WASHINGTON The phone lines of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee were shut down Friday after a deluge of Hillary Clinton supporters called to demand a conflict-of-interest investigation into Donald Trump.
The numbers for the committee and the office of chairman Jason Chaffetz appeared to be turned off and diverted straight to voicemail Friday afternoon. Calls to several other Republicans on the committee rang through to voicemail.
Even perplexed staff in the Democratic minoritys office say theyve been receiving a new call about every three seconds in support of their push for investigations into Trumps conflicts of interest.
The phone-in campaign appears to be an organized movement started by the pro-Hillary Clinton Facebook group Pantsuit Nation. The not-so-secret group was started during the election as a space for Clinton supporters to come together.

(4,589 posts)Good for them. I'm going to look up the number. Remember how the Tea Party gained power. They did it the old-fashioned way. They organized and lobbied Congress. We should not yield an inch.

(27,830 posts)I gave my full name to lend some gravitas to my call, and I also expressed surprise that this kind of investigation wasn't automatic, given Trump's financial ties with foreign governments.
It's hard for me to make calls like this, so I wrote myself a little script ahead of time, to the point, but I tried to be polite and natural, and at the end, I thanked them for listening to my voicemail.
I'm actually surprised this wouldn't happen BEFORE an election, given that they were on the phony email issue the whole election season.
