Declare it a Trump merchandising tool, like "60 Minutes" and Melanoma's whorish wrist. If retailers lose 50+% of their Black Friday sales they will know we mean business and aren't accepting "normalization" of this fascist who lost the popular vote.
I, for one, am in no mood to be thankful or cheery in this shit year of 2016.

No cooperation with Trump agenda from elected Democrats. Senate to filibuster anything and everything.
This worked for repukes... it should work for Democrats too.

(94,727 posts)"National strike" gets thrown out every year or two; nobody can ever point to a willingness of ordinary people (the type that don't hang out on political blogs) to engage in such tactics.
And unless you have evidence that the businesses you propose to boycott support Trump or his policies, it's not clear to me what you expect them to do.

(18,402 posts)I prefer the idea, mentioned in a post above, of an Inauguration Day strike. Massive, massive strike where everyone stays home from work and school. (Especially the Metro drivers in D.C.!)

(2,145 posts)In my house, it is buy nothing day. We spend time together as a family, eating, talking, watching movies. For me, it is a time to spend more time with family.
In 20 years, the only money I have spent on this day was a cup of coffee with a friend who was in town only for that one day.
I will continue to celebrate buy nothing day for as long as I am on this planet.

(12,328 posts)So, Black Friday only exists this year to describe my mood.
With that being said, you need to stop describing Melania using the term "whore". In doing so, you sound just like all the haters who called Hillary Clinton such horrible, sexist names. I'm pretty sure you don't want to sound like them.

(29,568 posts)Is "gold digging, plagiarizing, nude modeling third trophy wife, who violated immigration laws and lied about her education" acceptable?

(12,328 posts)We can have a discussion about semantics all night long, but no one should be using the term "whore" in ANY variation to describe a woman here on DU...and you know it.
Goodbye.
