Constitutional Convention

Listening to Tomm Hartman's program yesterday gave me the alarming creeps and willies. He pointed out that 33 states have Republican legislatures, and it only takes 34 (1 more) to call for a constitutional convention. That the Koch Brothers network, the ALEC groups, has a plan to call for a constitutional convention. In which case, every thing that we hold dear would be subject to destruction. Banning abortion, gay marriage, death penalty in every state, mandatory military service, a national religion, a national language, replace human rights with property rights, Senators selected by state legislatures, and much much more.

And they're within one state of constitutionally putting into law that this is a Christian country, I worry.

No constitutional convention!

ditching the 17th amendment would mean that senators aren't elected by popular vote, but by state legislatures.
