The Republican Medicare plan is an atrocity

Please share this...so many people's futures depend on this being defeated, and I don't trust any rethug senators.

The Republican Medicare plan is an atrocity
It only takes three Republican senators to stop it.

snip//

So, to summarize, Republicans plan to charge seniors a lot more for inferior health coverage. They will do so in a way that will jack up the total cost of care in the United States. And they could potentially cause America’s historic commitment to seniors’ health care to slowly vanish over the course of many years.

The architect of this plan is a man so drunk on conservative ideology that he often does not even bother to check the math underlying his proposals — or even to include numbers in his proposals so others can do so. And Republicans will soon control both houses of Congress and the presidency.

The future of Medicare looks grim.

heads in both parties prevail. This would be a disaster. For a supposedly smart man, Ryan isn't (nor has he ever) impressing me.

and........you are also correct on Ryan..he really isn't that smart.. I read a story about him once, that he tried to lie about finishing a marathon in a very short time..(much shorter than someone in his condition could have possibly completed it) He had made up the time to impress a few people. Got caught almost immediately...there was a strong discussion in Runner's World..about his .."fake time" and how he could not have done it that fast....He later admitted he made it up...

He is a lying stupid jerk........apologies to all jerks out there, for the comparison...

Another man without a compass. He just wants to brag about something he's actually accomplished, screw everyone else. No, not very smart at all.

3. Paul Ryan is called the GOP "idea guy" by our corporate media.

Many of the same people who voted for Trump will of course be badly hurt by GOP policies. Now that the GOP will be in charge, one wonders how the GOP will blame the Democrats when GOP policies cause hurt to voters.

It's one of the things that works so well. I can't imagine having to find private insurance with one of Ryan's coupons.

Trump voters on Medicare are in for a rude awakening.

Makes every one of his staff read "Atlas Shrugged." How he can be a catholic and an Ayn Rander is a mystery to me. But you can never accuse a republican of being uhhhhh logical.

"Ayn Rander" is as euphemistic as "alt right." It just serves to hide the virulent evil both entities espouse--and "crypto-Satanist" is bound to get under Lyin' Ryan's skin.

like this. Seniors vote and they will vote in large numbers if the GOP tries to tamper with MC and Social Security.

Nope, the CEO posted congratulations and a pledge to work with the new administration, and is getting reamed for it in the comments. I am very heartened by the comments, which as far down as I read were unanimous in denouncing the GOP Social Security and Medicare agenda:

I live in a very red state. The churches here obviously preach politics from the pulpit and have taught their sheep that Democrats go to hell. Mostly for abortion and gay marriage. They simply don't pay attention to anything else.

If something bad does happen, like SS or Medicare getting gutted, they'll blame "government," and then vote Republican again. After all, the Democrats run the government. (Did I accuse them of being logical?) It's frustrating. And the biggest problem is that they reproduce and they vote.

Is ignorance. We need a 50-state strategy of actually talking with people and re-educating them. IMO.

And what I was trying to say, apparently not too succinctly, is that they vote in spite of their ignorance and keep popping out the next generation of ignorant voters while Democrats stay home.

Good luck trying to re-educate these yahoos. They are "born again Christians" and nothing will move them. If you try to talk to them about issues, they "don't want to talk about it." And the church signs say shit like, "God will bless America when we put him first."

I've lived here for over 10 years and it's frustrating.

Religion has a way implanting ideology that can't be changed. When political views are mixed in with religious ones, now we have impenetrable bricks. I get that. I guess divided we stand without even being able to be kind to one another.
