“Views Differ on the Shape of the Planet”

Many, if not most of us here on DU keep up with politics and understand the games that politicians play. We know that the main stream media very often engages in innuendo and outright lies in order to seem “unbiased” and “balanced.” Here’s Paul Krugman’s take on that “balanced” bullshit:

“Way back in 2000 I suggested that if a Republican candidate said that the earth was flat, headlines would read, 'Views differ on shape of planet.' That still happens."

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/31/opinion/working-the-refs.html

The modern day Republican Party relies on and survives because of that so-called “balance.” In the real world, neither the GOP nor Donald Trump has anything to offer sane, rational people except fear, anger, hatred, racism, bigotry, and the deepest dreads that exist in the human psyche. There’s no other way they can win. No rational person buys into their so called “ideas.”

And today, we are stuck with the phony email “scandal” aimed at stopping Hillary. It’s just one more case of the media trumpeting Republican bullshit and making people think that Hillary is “devious and even evil.”

I guess how you view this current heap of deranged insanity depends on whether or not you believe the earth is round or flat.

They care about wealth and power. And that's all.

So about "That global warming crap" I guess their attitude is "He who dies with the most toys wins."

What really pisses me off is that we have to share the planet with these knuckle dragging remnants from the past.

They even invented a term for it, geoid. It's flat at the tops, fat in the middle and has some odd corners.

But I realize that's not quite the topic.
