As a "drone operator" and Earth-lover I find the actions by both the "authorities" and the FAA disgusting. Is it a false equivalency to compare the Bundy terrorists taking over a wildlife refuge (with guns to boot) to peaceful Native American activists seeking to protect ancestral lands and water sources?

It's also disgusting that the FAA complies with "law enforcement" and issues temporary flight restrictions that ban the use of hobby drones, even if there is no air traffic.

You clearly do not understand FAA regulations/guidelines for either commercial or recreational use of drones. Or that the FAA regulates the airspace, no matter if you fly over private or public property. E.g., A state park can ban "drones" from taking off or landing from state park property. But you could still fly a "drone" over a state park if you took off and landed on non-state park land.

In the case of the Dakota Pipe Line protests, drone flyers were in their rights to fly until the FAA complied with the LE request to create a NFZ (No Fly Zone), even if the drone operators took off and landed from and in private property or public land.

While I think I understand your comment at it basic level, please understand that "drones" can and do so much more than kill people. They are search and rescue heroes, they monitor crops, they perform vegetation surveys and they track and monitor wildlife to name a few positive functions.
