One thing that struck me is that all of these women are highly accomplished thenselves. They had carreers, nany went to university, etc.. no small feat back then when considering how discriminatory it was for women then. Maybe it is also a secret fir longevity?

You're all more connected to social media than I am, so, please, send this around. It's not political. It just has these adorable women who were born before 1920, and it should be shared.

“This election means that women can achieve anything”
Katherine Blood Hoffman, 102
Born August 1914 in Winter Haven, FL

•Taught Chemistry at Florida State College for Women and Florida State Univ. for 44 years
•Dean of Women at FSU, where she constantly fought for women’s rights

“This election means that women can achieve anything. In 1937 I was accepted into the medical school at Duke University. I decided not to attend because female students were required to sign a pledge stating that they would not marry while in school. The male students did not have to sign and did not have the same restriction. I did not think that this was fair.”
