(81,304 posts)And ANY Congressional seat - I'll take any of 'em.
That recent report from Rachel Maddow that when President Obama leaves office, his next big project involves Democrats coming back at the state level, and taking over state legislatures (and hopefully, some governors' offices). Our side SERIOUSLY dropped the ball on that one, and the CONS were able almost literally to run the table in the state capitols, and lock in state controls - and all the damage that goes with it, from making and passing all kinds of stupid-ass laws, closing down Planned Parenthood clinics, restricting voting rights, fucking with gay rights and marriage equality, and all kinds of shitty stuff. THAT has to change! And the sooner the better!
I've been jumping for joy ever since I heard that report! Thanks, Obama!!!!

(5,902 posts)Republicans have made it every bit as partisan and corrupt a process as it was in Elbridge Gerry's day, and just as vicious.
I think the Repigs have met their match.

(14,565 posts)No comparison between the two. I laughed during the debates when they faced each other a decade ago.
Now Tarkanian loses one race then finds another one the next cycle, while Miller is apparently still smarting from that narrow upset loss to Laxalt two years ago. That was strictly due to national tide and voter enthusiasm in a midterm. Miller would have cruised during a presidential election year. I'm not sure he wouldn't have been a superior senate candidate than Cortez-Mastro but he wasn't going to create a contentious mess in the primary.

"Your call is important to us. However, no one is here at the moment to speak with you, as we are all out groping our way through the Vegas casinos generally and the Trump-owned properties particularly.
"But if you will leave your name, number, and any message after the tone, Katrina Pierson will track you down and suggest that Bill Clinton is to blame for just about everything.
"Thank you and have a good day."

(20,692 posts)Because the party did nothing for gotv. Duh. NO organization.
The rallies were just a sideshow: The same person who might go to see fRump in person won't bother going to vote: That's no fun.

Maybe he should try sticking up for women and girls once in a while, instead of complaining that not enough people are voting for a sexual predator and conman.
