We just got our insurance information from the company and well I'm rather thrilled.
A 1% increase is less than previous years.
I also get a discount for the following:
Go to the doctor for an annual visit
Go to the dentist at least once a year
Do a preventive cancer screening
I was able to get the full deduction and well I will be paying even less than last year.
Oh and those 3 things I mentioned above are all covered now BECAUSE of the ACA. So can I say "Thanks Obama"??
My husband's plan also went down year to year. He is getting covered 100% for all preventive care. That's what I call a great plan.
Oh and Thanks Obama. Thanks for caring for the American People enough to even think that this could be possible. We can make it better and really with Hillary we will make it better.
Can't wait to vote this Saturday for the next President Hillary Clinton!!

It would be good if the media reported how much insurance rates are going up for people who are not under Obamacare.

(4,112 posts)Looking like a 14-18% premium increase, depending on the plan and carrier. We've had a good year, so we're probably going to try to absorb some of that, but employees will take a small additional hit.

(34,398 posts)it wasn't in the letter I got from the insurance company. I don't make a ton of money either, just my retirement pension & my husband's SSD. Totally bummed out, but still looking forward to voting straight Democratic on 11/8.

New (with subsidy) is $408. (Without subsidy would be $578.)
To be honest, I'm a self-employed author. Not sure I can afford $600 a month.

(413 posts)Any increases in the cost are far worth it considering the amount of people that are going to be helped.
Me and my wife are seeing a $360 increase every month and I pay it gladly knowing that other people that otherwise wouldn't have coverage, are now covered.

(413 posts)Me and the wife give up two expensive date nights a month and 20 million people that weren't covered are now covered. We all have to make sacrifices and I think we should be happy to make them. The people that created the ACA are much smarter than you or me and we'd all be better off trusting their judgement and trusting our Party.
The ACA isn't perfect (yet!) but fixing it is Hillary's job and ours is to get her elected so that she can do her's so let's not lose focus.

(413 posts)We certainly won't complain about it during an election.
This is no different than the Russians trying to influence our election except that this time it's the insurance companies.
Best thing to do is trust our Party to fix it and in the mean time focus your energy on helping Hillary.

(10,718 posts)I'll find out in a month or so what next year's premiums will be. I'm in a company plan, covering a few thousand employees. Covering just myself costs me about $75 a month, so I know I'm pretty fortunate.
My daughters have state coverage thanks to the ACA, which has been a godsend.
