I wish we could make it illegal for media to profit from elections. That is the real root of the problem of why we have so much corruption in government. The politicians have to beg for money just so they can give it to media advertisers. It wouldn't matter how much who gave to whom if profiting from elections was abolished. nationalized. I don't think it would hurt a thing for them to be required to run a limited amount of free ads during election season, however. Maybe there should be restrictions for debates as well. There's plenty of other people buying ad space for media companies. They can be required to perform a little public service without being appropriated by the government.
