EARLY VOTING in Illinois
PLEASE EARLY VOTE. IT HELPS SO MUCH
1. The voter database is updated each night. Once you have voted, if you are an identified D voter, no one needs to waste their time or yours with reminder calls and knocks on your door. More time to get the rest of our voters out.
2. Once we have voted, that gives us two weeks of time to support the GOTV effort. Help in a campaign office. Knock on doors. Make calls, even from home. If nothing else, take some food or goodies to feed volunteers. Every effort helps.
My Experience:
I just completed voting at the Lake County, IL central voting center in Libertyville. The usual plethora of Republican down-ballot yard signs. Not one tRump sign anywhere.
I've voted early at this center since it opened years ago. Today the line was three times as long as I've ever seen it, out the door of the room and down the hall. Three election judges at computers verifying name, address, and signature. Two election judges verifying I had the correct ballot for my precinct. Smooth. Very smooth.
Although our ballots are counted by computer, we vote by coloring ovals on a printed ballot - always a paper trail. The slightest thought that this election could be rigged is pure childish insanity. I am proud to be a part of a wonderful system
Even with the lines I was in and out in 12 minutes.
