(52,243 posts)After the original cast had graduated and people pined for the good ole days. People complained that it wasn't funny anymore and he said it was never very funny.
There's often only one joke for an entire skit, and they lean heavily on repetition, both within a skit and from week to week. Reasonably enough, as it's basically improv.
Of course, it's even harder with trump stealing all the good punch lines...

(2,505 posts)... Trumpian "bombshells" over the next few days (which is about as likely as Wayne LaPierre of the NRA getting the Nobel Peace Prize)... then yeah: Trump's pretty much written the next SNL Trump sketch for them.
And ditto the comments about Alec Baldwin's Trump. Baldwin's Trump, IMO is stunningly good. His looming over "Hillary" on the latest SNL skit was priceless. Unfortunately it was not that far from reality. Which, incidentally, seems to be the case with Trump on a daily basis.
On a personal note, over the last week or two, I've been finding it increasingly difficult to laugh at anything Trump does. Sexual assault, other related "issues", and Trump's heavily armed Brownshirts are no laughing matter. And I seriously think Trump and/or some of his cult members, may go completely off "the rails" within the upcoming weeks. (And I'd be very happy to be proven utterly wrong)
