http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/what-will-happen-to-the-trump-die-hards/504032/The same cannot be said for the millions of Americans who have looked to Trump to save them. These folks, at least the ones frequently reported onthe angry, white, blue-collar workers who are outraged or terrified that America has become some topsy-turvy multi-cultural nightmare where a hard-working man cannot make a decent living anymorewill emerge from this circus worse off than before.
They will likely be angrierand more certainthat they are being dismissed, if not outright screwed, by a self-serving establishment. Some will be all the more convinced that their economic woes can be blamed on cheap immigrant labor and reassured about their general feelings of insecurity about Muslims.
This is what Trump has done over the last year: Hes whipped up the darkest, angriest demons in the electorate. He has not simply given people permission to indulge any racist, sexist, xenophobic, or religiously intolerant tendencies they may harbor. He has insistedloudlythat such bigotry is only common sense and mocked anyone who refuses to see the danger presented by the other as a blind idiot. Those not sharing Trumps grim vision are, by definition, suckers being taken for a ride.
It's going to be like Reconstruction, without the benefit of an occupying army.

(204 posts)It's hard to believe anyone could be worse than Bush the Dumber, but Dump has him beat by a power of 1000.

(67,109 posts)what almost happened in Kansas. Trump, is evil humanity, going off with his comforts of life as the Losers that supported him (surly Losers in his eyes) suffer in one way or another, with festering hatred and held for acts of violence. What a POS.

(45,806 posts)on Con's wealth say that the majority is in his "name". Many of the buildings that bear his name are owned by someone else. If that "name" loses some of it's value, he might not be very wealthy. He has some very high debts that he is personally responsible for, and noone knows just how toxic that "name" might become.

(6,008 posts)I mean I thought he was a pompous ass before, and would have not used any of his products before for that reason alone, but now his name is absolutely toxic to an ever increasing segment of the population. The only play he will have left is to keep his disciples of hatred mobilized in order to bilk money out of them. Which will be an absolute nightmare for the GOP, and not too pleasant for the rest of us either...
