A judge has found probable cause for a complaint of official misconduct against Gov. Chris Christie related to the George Washington Bridge closure.
The case now goes to the Bergen County Prosecutors Office, which will determine if the case will lead to an indictment.
Under New Jerseys official misconduct law, a public servant can be imprisoned for up to ten years for criminal acts committed in their official capacity. Chris Christies Bridgegate behavior is a textbook violation of New Jersey law. Evidence has shown that Christie was involved in the plan to political payback on those who

(52,253 posts)the focus seems to be on the mayor of fort lee, if he was wronged for political reasons. christie and his gang messed up traffic to punish the mayor of fort lee.
the real problem is that the people of fort lee had to sit in artificial traffic pointlessly so that christie could settle a personal grudge.
Makes you wonder what else they have done to citizens in the name of gaining or keeping power - and that's not merely a question for US politicians - it is a global problem.

(16 posts)To be clear I can't stand this guy. Never could. He's a criminal way beyond the GWB. He gave Wall Street hundred of millions to take over state pensions only to go back to them for $ for his laughable POTUS run. In short, he sucks!
But a municipal court judge in NJ is just a lawyer appointed by the mayor that lawyer helped get elected. A municipal court judge is barely a judge. His summons today is real but Christie will wipe his seeping keister with it. A step in the right direction though. I'm glad it happened.

He's so into a shitload of questionable dealings with GOVERNMENT money (both NJ and Port Authority funds) to help out his buddies.

(81,322 posts)Hard to imagine anyone a bigger criminal than GWB, who's an unrepentant war criminal along with his VP. But Trump is close, just in terms of sheer sleaze. And ignorance. And narcissism. And sexism. And racism. And jingoism. And opportunism. And total mendacity! And flat-out lechery!
When did we ever have a Presidential candidate who was described with the word "creepy" before this? I've been around awhile and tried to keep track to some extent, and I sure don't remember any such case. But that story about him intruding on Miss TEEN USA!!! Barging in while they were changing clothes and some of them were naked or semi-naked! The youngest girl there was 15! FIFTEEN!!!
