Four charged with assault in beating of HS student who supported "Blue Lives Matter" movement

Four young men, including the son of a councilwoman-elect who recently preached about parenting, have been charged with assault in the beating of an Alabama high school student who used social media to support police and the "Blue Lives Matter" movement.

The suspects, all recent Sylacauga High School students, were arrested Tuesday following the Sept. 30 attack against 17-year-old Brian Ogle.

The teen had suffered serious head injuries after responding to students wearing Black Lives Matter T-shirts by posting his pro-police views.

Two of the alleged attackers, 20-year-old Quartez Walker and Bobby Brown, 19, were arrested at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa. La. Noah Grant Ealy, Jr., 18, was arrested at Auburn University in Montgomery, and Daveon Nix, 20, was arrested in Sylacauga.

This story, based on the current evidence, is no different than the Central Park 5 story.
There is zero evidence in any of the stories that he was attacked specifically because of his Facebook post supporting police. Think: do these people even know each other?? How would they know about his Facebook posts or why would they even care that some random teen supports police on his Facebook page?
His parents, from the start, with nothing but their own opinion, accused the BLM movement as being behind the attack because their son supported police. The racism is dripping from this story: it drives the theory that you cannot support BLM and police or that if you support police "thugs" will attack you.
I despise these news stories for picking up the racist ranting of the parents as fact when it is not.

And the police are extracting false confessions? Because that would be just as much leaping to conclusions as you accuse the article of being.

The men arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law (sometimes not even then) and not the court of public opinion and hyperbolic and racist nonsense.

as applied to LEOs. Then the court of hyperbolic public opinion should be enough to charge, convict, and execute.

It really is very unlikely that a case of police shooting going to trial. if it does than yes.
Let's also keep in mind that police should be held to higher expectations and standards. "Being afraid" is not a valid excuse. They are not bakers or plumbers. Their job is inherently dangerous. Shooting at the first provocation is unacceptable. Also keep in mind that the most police officers in other countries can go their entire career without every even carrying a gun, much less firing one in the line of duty.
