Looks like the anti science crowd is spewing this propaganda. Having a conversation about which women should have been awarded the prize in Medicine, Chemistry and Physics is too complicated for these people. They most likely don't have an argument and don't care enough about science to understand why the award was awarded to winner.

Im completely open to a discussion about why a particular women should have won over who actually won. But that does not seem to be what they are doing here.

It's especially telling that most of the comments (most of them women) point out the author's failure for not naming any women that should've won a Nobel this year over the very qualified men that won.

Again buzzfeed and any other millennial aimed newsource sucks.

and still be amused that someone seems to think there is some sort of injustice because more women weren't given Nobel prizes this year.

Tokenism won't help anyone. It will only mask the bigger problems.

Women only making up 15-20% of STEM majors should be the bigger concern than the gender of who wins certain awards.

Doesn't matter, they are men, so they deserve it. And they just assume that no woman could have been considered as good.

I bet they still don't know the names of the men who won. Besides Bob Dylan.

Then they need to be encouraged to work in those fields, without discrimination or harassment.

THEN they will be in the pipeline for Nobel prizes, just as the men are.

That will lead to a more equitable outcome.

I suspect that the gender of the nominated person doesn't matter to the Nobel committee. They look at the history and the accomplishments of the person, as they should.

In my opinion, the gender of the person being nominated or considered for nomination, should not matter.
