Unless I'm mistaken, hackers furnish them with data, which they in turn publish.

The absence of dirt on Trump, I imagine, is due to a lack of interest from organized, state-sponsored hackers.

I actually do wonder if Wikileaks would release Trump campaign e-mails if they had them. I'm inclined to think that they would. Wikileaks is just the "useful idiot" that Russia uses so that it's harder to trace back to them.
