Could the Trump implosion finally sink AM Hate Radio?

I know it's "wishful thinking", but he is the nominee of Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Savage and the hundreds, if not thousands of "cookie-cutter hate talkers" poisoning the American airwaves for close to 3 decades now. Hell, even Wolfman Jack's shtick got old after a while.

See, IMHO, a repudiation of Trump is also a repudiation of Hate-Radio.

It was all well and good to Republicans when they were taking power in the House, Senate and multiple State Houses and making Limbaugh an "honorary" Congressman, but has it finally "jumped the shark"?

We need to put the press on to attack the local channels. Ask them why they have allowed themselves to become a vessel and platform for such hatred, bigotry, misogyny and racism?

Personally, I don't give a flying f$#k if they broadcast cooking shows for the other 23 hours of the day. If they broadcast one second of Limbaugh or the cottage industry haters, they are aiding and abetting hatred and racism.

Clear Channel, Sinclair Communications and the other "wingnut" conglomerates act like they are invincible, but it's the local stations that we can reach. It's the local stations that should be inundated with calls to offer more diverse and sane programming.

Maybe when they realize that there is a price to pay for creating and enabling a psychopath like Trump, we can finally push the eject button on Limbaugh and his kind.

We should at least try. They own Donald Trump. They gave birth to him...maybe it's time they were held accountable.

Not. There may be a "Trump channel" where 30% or more Americans would tune in awake Oct 2016 #1

I think originally it was a PR move, but then he thought he could win, until the tape dropped. Now he's in full f- it mode. All he's going to do is now is ensure he is a legendary hero to the alt-right, who he will bilk for millions and millions of dollars after the election.

What's amazing is that this total and abject failure has stumbled into the greatest and easiest legal con in the country, sitting atop the right wing media complex.

And the government doesn't have the power to "eject" anyone off the radio. We are not that kind of country.

There is the first amendment that is pretty clear you have a right to free speech and a free press.

Aging listeners plus technology (who still listens to AM radio? Okay I do) lead to advertisers going elsewhere. Rush's Fluke bit tipped it over the edge.

Bain Capital bought Iheartradio (previously Clear Channel) and we all know how that usually ends up.

Think it is still being litigated. Friend of ours runs a few Stations in the Midwest,he was poed that he has to pay a Royalty for Limpballs even though he does not run his crap. Sounds like he is looking for a buyer, the ad market sucks and he has to feed the beast from time to time.

Trump has brought together and consolidated a group of hateful, racist, misogynist people that make up a big enough audience to support some sort of outlet. Trump himself may end up being directly involved (along with Ailes, Bannon, etc.) in creating a new outlet. That could, in fact, be what Trump is gunning for right now--not to win the election, but to continue to consolidate a group of people that could make him wealthy after the election. We'll see.

But hopefully what the election does is at least push this scum out of the mainstream.

He won't have to any preparation at all before a broadcast. Just say Hillary, or Billary or Clinton before any random assortment of words and watch the money flow in.

As long as there is a market and as long as they can sell
advertising they will keep doing what they are doing.

Of course OTOH there are hard core RW outlets who will
remain until their electricity is turned off.

Remember Rush's moniker "America Held Hostage". Joseph Goebbels couldn't have concocted better propaganda mission. Hillary getting elected will allow Flush to bring back the oldies and the sheeple will lap it up.
