Police raid Indiana Voter Registration Project, reports of fraud expand to multiple counties

http://fox59.com/2016/10/04/police-raid-indiana-voter-registration-project-reports-of-fraud-expand-to-multiple-counties/

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Indiana State Police raided an Indianapolis business as part of an expanded investigation into allegations of fraudulent voter application information in multiple Indiana counties.

The investigation originally involved Hendricks and Marion counties but has since expanded to include Allen, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Johnson, Lake and Madison counties, state police said.

ISP says the investigation began after they were tipped off by the Hendricks County Clerk's office to inaccuracies in registration forms.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the business offices of the Indiana Voter Registration Project, 2425 North Meridian Street, Suite A, in downtown Indianapolis.

Just heard this on Thom Hartmann. So, Pence is trying to swing Indiana for the Goopers by nefarious means?

If you hire people with nothing else to do and pay them on quantity of forms turned in, then this is what happens.

Was anyone fraudulently registered to vote? No. The system works as designed.

This is the same nonsense that got the RWers up in arms over ACORN years back, and IMHO has the same root cause - hiring lazy contractors and paying them on volume.

have to turn all of the forms- potentially fraudulent or not. One thing that I don't get, though, is, how voter registration fraud is supposed to work in terms of affecting the outcome of the election. If "Mickey Mouse" is signed up to vote but doesn't actually exist, "Mickey Mouse" won't show up to vote and, thus, won't influence the election.

This is a way for some one to create many voter identifications for themselves so they can vote more than once.

Also, if Joe Blow Real Person who lives at 123 XYZ street registers multiple times, he still only gets put on the list once. The clerk who processes the registration forms sees that Joe is already registered and perhaps updates with the most recent registration date, but Joe doesn't get a second entry on the list.

(For those unaware, please look up "ratfucking" (I think there's even a Wiki page on it). I'd do it, but my cell phone refuses to copy/paste.)

Someone called in a "tip" of fraudulent activity against this group.

What they are saying is the group (liberal) is re- registering registered voters with inaccurate information. So when you go to vote, the info doesn't match up which can disenfranchise your vote.

Or, even if they find no fraud, you may not be able to vote if the investigation is ongoing --- which might actually be the case.

What a novel way to disenfranchised voters. It also helps the Republicans pass those awful voting laws in the state Houses, because this "proves" there really is "fraud".
