How Senator Tim Kaine ultimately won the Vice Presidential Debate in 34 seconds

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/10/5/1578030/-What-Democratic-VP-nominee-Tim-Kaine-said-that-won-the-debate?detail=email&link_id=1&can_id=977f0f8a1b90e461c9de8f856582893b&source=email-how-tim-kaine-ultimately-won-the-vice-presidential-debate-in-34-seconds&email_referrer=how-tim-kaine-ultimately-won-the-vice-presidential-debate-in-34-seconds&email_subject=how-tim-kaine-ultimately-won-the-vice-presidential-debate-in-34-seconds

After watching Tuesday night’s Vice Presidential Debate, Republicans will say Governor Mike Pence won and Democrats will say Senator Tim Kaine won. But Kaine did win. By addressing women’s reproductive rights, he made the views of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party crystal clear, and he stated those views with strength, conviction and compassion.

Below is the short transcript of Tim Kaine addressing Pence. As Kaine was making this particular point, Pence was mumbling. He was mumbling and acting like he wanted to interrupt but knowing—he had nothing. Nothing. Tim Kaine:

“Why don’t you trust women to make this choice for themselves? We can encourage people to support life, of course, we can, but why don’t you trust women? Why doesn’t Donald Trump trust women to make this choice for themselves. That’s what we ought to be doing in public life — living our lives of faith or motivation with enthusiasm and excitement convincing each other, dialoguing with each other about important moral issues of the day, but on fundamental issues of morality, we should let women make their own decisions. “

It’s that simple. You want to take away the reproductive rights from 51% of the American population, guess what? You lose, Mike Pence and Donald Trump. You lose.

women and minorities.

He did none of that in the debate.

Instead, he appealed only to the hardcore 30% of his base.

He was so easy to check-block.

"No, he / I didn't say / do that"

Umm... yes you did.

Videos are coming out disproving it.

Polls showing Pence won won't matter since 40+ million less people watched the vp debate
last night. The only solid poll so far says Pence won it by 6 points on style. Who cares about style?

The truth is - relatively speaking, no one was watching... I wonder what will happen to the other Presidential debates? Lower audiences for sure, but how much lower?

The RW has been getting away with "murder" for years, and Dems have been way too wishy-washy on the Pro-Choice front.

It's time to stand up and say it out right.

As many of you know, I'm a Buddhist. I'm not interested in being told that I'm going to Hell if I don't get Baptized and take Jesus as my personal savior. I'm tired of the Baptist Church deciding that I can't buy liquor before 12 noon on Sundays in my state (Texas). My grown kids and grandkids are quite capable of deciding whether or not to practice birth control. Hurricanes and tornados are not God's punishment for tolerating homosexuals to openly live the lifestyle that makes them happy. I greatly object to public schools only being allowed to teach sexual abstinance, rather than a full fact-based science class about human sexuality. I deeply resent Planned Parenthood centers getting closed throughout my state. I don't want to hear any Christian preachers, and I especially don't want to see them praying in public at big rallies in the Houston Astrodome, or anywhere else for that matter. I can't believe that in 2016, we still have to deal with religious intolerance and bigotry. It's ignorant, shameful and hateful.

There is an obvious attempt at setting up a "Christian" based theocracy, even though they deny it.

I call them Talibangelists.

I heard Kaine say that and I realized he was talking to American not Pense. Hopefully Kaine pushed open a little more the envelope around womens reproductive rights with the right to choose as an empowering center piece.

without that basic right, the rest are diminished substantially. That is just the basic right to control her own body. That's the "moral" argument for me, and no forced birther will dissuade me, ever.

in a Homicide Class I took in college.

"Law is moral, but individual morality cannot constitute law."

A Homicide Detective told this on the first day of class.

Just trimmed the garbage off the link at the question mark so that it doesn't have your personal email referring identifier in it.

You can often do this with ease. Look for question marks or sometimes ampersands in the part after the last slash mark '/'.

Maybe even THE high point. Let the talking heads in the media declare what they want about who won and who lost. Hillary and Kaine will win if this great statement by Hillary's Veep motivates enough women and supporters of women's rights to get to the polls and vote for Hillary! And if we are able to do this, and keep America moving forward, instead of alternately moving forward and dialing things back, America may finally make a major, decisive breakthrough...
