I didn't see it, alas, but it was apparently quite spectacular with a bright green blaze.
Quite a flurry of conversation on my small town's FB page, most of it posted with a sense of humor and not a little wonder, with some likening the event either to Killer Klowns from Outer Space or Joe Dirt. I, on the other hand, offered Creepshow as the more compelling cinematic precedent.
Then, predictably, one of my enlightened fellow townfolk posted "Probably Hillary on her broom again," receiving a bunch of "likes" from the citizens of my reliably Red community.
In response, I posted "Or maybe it was Trump crashing and burning yet another of his many failed businesses."
Strangely, my reply received no "likes."

But the county has gone Red since 2004.

(118,320 posts)... we find that the Meteor would poll at 13% -- far more support than the third party candidates actually on the ballot -- with Clinton at 43% and Trump at 38%. The Meteor is particularly appealing to independent voters, functionally in a three way tie at 27% to 35% for Clinton and 31% for Trump ...
