1. I disagree. I saw no particular bias. What i DID see was a moderator who . . . .

. . . . had no idea how much power she actually had to MODERATE the debate.

When she actually talked over them when they ignored her, amazingly, both of them shut up and listened to her.

She did far better than Holt.

2. She wasn't biased as much as stupid

She asked too many foreign policy questions and only gave social issues five minutes at the end. Her questions led to filibustering answers and she failed to moderate.

More intent on getting through her questions than allowing real debate.

5. Why was she selected?

She lost control of the mic from the start and the first half of the debate was an audio mess with a jumble of voices from both Kaine and Pence trying to overtalk each other, plus the moderator constantly pleading for order. No one could understand anything that they said. Kaine's incessant interruptions not only made him look rude, but he added to the noise and made it even more difficult for viewers to hear. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the TV audience just switched to something else from sheer frustration at the way this debate was mismanaged.
