Hopeful thoughts: This is the darkness right before the dawn

Last edited Sun Sep 25, 2016, 03:21 PM - Edit history (1)

We are now in a new age. The Information Age. Trump is the Frankenstein creation of all the curruption in politics and our unfair economic system.

The media has been choosing our candidates for years. They have gotten so bad and reached such lows that intellectuals are calling them out on their failures boldly now. They are becoming more and more obsolete as more and more people become truth seekers outside of the MSM.

Corporate power dictates laws and narratives globally to enrich a few while stealing labor and resources from the many. They keep us devided so we don't notice. All seems so dark and and hopeless. We are feeling like we no longer can keep up the good fight.

But what if this is the necessary darkness that will wake us all up and we find ways to continue to empower ourselves by our work actions and words?

Maybe light is just on the reachable side of this despicable mean hateful madness that we are experiencing from this disturbed world power our capital system has given us. Extremely powerful unregulated capitalism is eating itself and will crumble by its own selfish thieving faults. We are on the good enlightened side and hopefully we will prevail.

I came here via your link. Times are tough. We have had a bloody primary. And a Megalomaniacal Misogynist is breathing down the neck of the first woman POTUS.

We are kinda through the looking glass. And I've no idea how we get back to normal. Normal seems so far in the past. Alex Jones & Company aren't normal. The Alt Right isn't normal. They are having their time in the sun in the era of global warming.

Wake me when it's over. I can barely look anymore. I won't watch the debate. Just read about it here afterwards. I'll check in frequently no doubt.

A discouraging time for our country and the world. This will be my 16th presidential election; we've had some terrible presidents but even so I didn't think our wonderful nation could sink so low as during this campaign.
If these people prevail I am afraid we will be leaving our grandchildren and greatgrandchildren a sinking ship and planet that they will not be able to save.

I agree, it is very dark.

Personally, and based in Buddhist thinking, I think the crucial thing is an internal change on an individual basis. But Buddhism isn't the only perspective that teaches that we are responsible for changing ourselves, in order to change the world.

The worst is facing us so blatantly, that finally most people can see something, finally. The worldview that says, "Kill or be Killed", basically, is coming out from the shadows--and a lot of people, whenever it is that they see it, realize they don't want to live that way.

an accurate prediction four years ago when I was really getting scared of Romney. I only hope it pans out again, because if it doesn't, it's just the darkness before the abyss.
